Royal Brigade
Spring Training

Spring Training
Spring Training for the Royal Brigade is this coming Tuesday 6/3 through Friday 6/6. All members new to the Royal Brigade (mainly sophomores) and Leadership Team will meet at 12:00 p.m. each day, with returning members reporting at 1:00 p.m. We will finish rehearsal each day at 4:00 p.m.

Unless it is raining, almost all of our rehearsals next week will be outside, so be sure to dress for the weather. Students must wear closed-toe athletic shoes (no sandals or boots), and color guard will wear their rehearsal blacks. Also, please bring the following items with you to rehearsal:

  • Your performing equipment (I.e., your instrument, sticks, reeds, valve oil, etc.)

  • A large water jug, labeled with your name (many water jugs look alike). At least a half-gallon is recommended.

  • Sunscreen — use more than you think you need

  • A 3-ring binder, at least 1-inch in diameter.

  • Optional:

    • Hat or head covering for sun protection

    • Sunglasses

Guard and Drum Spring Camps
In addition to full ensemble Spring Training, Color Guard and Percussion each hold their spring camps next week as well. They will meet from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. each day, Tuesday 6/3through Friday 6/6.

Uniform Measurements
Students will be measured for uniforms after spring camp rehearsals (approx. 4:00-6:00 p.m.) The following sections will be measured on these days:

Tuesday, June 3 — drum majors, flutes, clarinets, mellophones and low reeds

Wednesday, June 4 — alto saxes, sousaphones, trumpets and baritones

Thursday, June 5 — percussion, and any remaining students who have not yet been measured.

On the day that you are measured, please wear your performance clothing (I.e. a sleeveless shirt or tank, and compression or slick athletic shorts).
