Northwest High School
Color Guard

Color Guard is a performance art of dance, flag spinning, and using other props to tell a story to music. The Northwest Guard has two seasons, Fall Color Guard and Winter Guard.

Auditions

Auditions for the fall guard are in April and winter guard auditions are typically held in November. Anyone is welcome to audition.

Fall Color Guard

In the fall color guard members perform as part of the marching band program spinning flags, rifles, and sabres while moving on the field. Shows take place at halftime during home football games and on the weekends where they travel with the band to competitions. The color guard rehearses weekly on Tuesdays at 6:00 pm, in addition to daily marching band rehearsals.
